Celebrity Dream Blog: 3/19/04 "Mt. Doomed"
Special Guest Stars: The Cast of The Lord of the Rings with a cameo appearence by Al Pacino.
This dream is disjointed and makes little sense, especially in the begining. The first half does not pertain to LOTR, but is interesting.
I don't know who I was supposed to be. Further, I was not sure if I was in a movie or in real life. I was in a house in a small town. The town had just suffered a horrible tragedy involving five or six girls around age six. Basically, the girls had gone to school and whomever was teaching there tortured them in different ways. One way was that one of the girls, a very cute child with dark hair was force fed until she became very ill.
I just knew all this kind of, as the dream went along, it was very confusing and didn't follow an organized pattern. I was sitting in a kitchen with the dark haired girl. She was better, but traumatized like the other little girls and didn't want to go back to the school. I think I was trying to explain that the bad people were gone and school was safe now.
The next thing was that me, some other women and the other little girls were watching the re-opening of the school on a monitor. They were terrified and holding onto me and the other women. We were telling them it was ok, and that there was nothing bad there anymore.
The dark haired girl began to get sick again, just looking at and thinking about what was done to her in the school. I was helping her, trying to calm her down. Her name could have been Lindsey, it just popped into my head, so I am not sure. There was tension and fear in the house, as we prepared to help the girls get over their post traumatic stress disorders- but the problem was that we still weren't sure all evil had been taken care of.
The next part I was taking some kid to school, then I found out that some of the bad teachers were still working there, so I rushed back to get the kid and he was just a Pillow Person (toys from the '80's) with yellow yarn hair.
The next scene was completely different. I was outdoors, in a nature setting with mossy marshes and lots of trees. The place was very dreary and overcast and was supposed to be Middle Earth. The best way I can explain to someone reading about this dream, is that the Middle Earth I was in was either from Tolkein's books or in someone else's imagination. The creatures had the same names, but looked different than they did in the movies.
Anyhow, the first area I was in contact with was a grassy field with about six tombstones. They were those of the six little girls from the school. Apparently, they never recovered from the abuse and were tortured and killed. I sat and cried bitterly a few feet away from their graves. I felt like I wanted to help them and there was nothing I could do.
Someone came up to me and sympathized. There were lots of other people camping out in the woodsy area. We were waiting for the Orcs to come and fight us or something. I really don't know for sure. There were creatures that looked like gorillas and someone said they were hobbits and I was going to explain that hobbits don't look like that at all. I felt I was trapped in a world where noone had seen the movies, therefore they didn't know how Middle Earth should be, or at least how millions of people had experienced it in the films.
Then I was talking to some guy and we were supposed to climb over the grassy land in between the marshes to get somewhere. There were little islands of land, just enough to step on inbetween the water. On one low branch of a tree was some kind of black hanging plant and it was supposed to represent Sauron's balls, at least that's what the guy said. I wanted to throw the stick into the water.
We got to an area with a big wooden deck and there were lots of people camping out. I sat on the deck. Stuff like radios and grills were set up. I think the people were camping in sort of an emergency situation like they'd been driven from their homes by some natural disaster, or more likely, the enemy.
I was talking to a couple who were staying in a big luxury van and they were undercover incase it rained. I didn't really think it was fair that they got to have all that while myself and the other people had to just camp outside in sleeping bags.
Finally, some action began. There was a buggy that drove up with some Orcs in it. They began shooting darts at everyone. I looked down and I realized that a dart had hit my leg. An Orc came up to me and looked at the dart in my leg. I was scared, wondering if it was going to knoc me out. I pulled the dart out of my flesh, but it wasn't too painful. The Orc said that he wanted ME to go up to Mt. Doom and meet with the leader (Sauron, I guess). I got into the back of the buggy and all the people at the camp site were worried about me, but I tried to remain calm and just face what I had to do. I was thinking that I was like Frodo and I had to be brave and do what was appointed to me.
The buggy carried me up a hill then onto a continuing wooden ramp that ascended up the hill. It began to go faster and faster like an amusement park ride. Half way up, I was asked to get out and climb across this tightrope like bridge to get to the mountain part. It was half balancing and half swinging across. I made it really fast and the other on-lookers (mostly Orcs) were amazed, and so was I. I felt more confident then.
Another head Orc guy told me I had to take the Ring up to Mt. Doom. I had it on my right hand, on my first finger. It was just a gold band, no writing appeared on it. I walked in through some glass doors into a huge room with volcanic rock surrounding it, but there were also lots of wooden ramps you could walk up to the top.
I stopped at the entrance of the glass doors, and thought to myself. I actually thought to myself that if this was going to be a Lord of the Rings dream, I wanted the cast to appear. Then, just as I thought this, I saw a group of people approaching the glass doors, then walking into the huge volcanic room where I was standing. I saw Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood AND eventhough he wasn't in Lord of the Rings, Al Pacino. Ian was dressed pretty normal (not as Gandalf), Al wore Donnie Brasco like clothes including the 70's sunglasses and Elijah was dressed like Sherlock Holmes. (Please don't ask me why any of this was; I have no idea.) There were other people too who I couldn't really make out who they were. Everyone was talking and smiling like they were just going on an outing together. I was kind of annoyed, thinking that they'd be no help. I put the Ring on my left finger and went invisible, then I began to climb up the ramp to the top of Mt. Doom.
The next part I remember, I had made it to the top. I was no longer invisible. I was greeted by yet another Orc, who led me to an area half outside. It was kind of bright and before me was a pool of lava with an Eye emblem on the stone that was on the surface of it. The Orc said something like this:
"Now Mistress. Do you know who had this task before you?"
And I replied, "Frodo of the Shire." I looked back down the ramps onto the lower level when I said that and saw that Elijah was now dressed as Frodo. He stood, smiling and talking to one of the other actors. I turned back to the Orc.
"Yes, and he failed his task. Now it us up to you to do the right thing with the Ring."
I was confused. They wanted me to drop the Ring in the lava, but I knew it wasn't going to be destroyed, it was going straight to Sauron if I did that. I didn't know what to do. The Orcs were waiting impatiently for me to drop it in and the voice of Sauron called to me though the lava telling me to give him the Ring.
I think the next thing that happened, was that a fight broke out. Finally, some of the good guys were fighting the Orcs and I wasn't alone. The next person I saw that I recognized was Merry (Dom Monaghan, of course, as Merry). I was happy to see him and he bumped into me. I am not sure where the Ring went at that point. Merry was drunk, but still trying to fight with a sword. I grabbed him by the arm and we ran down the ramps, trying to avoid the Orcs. I wasn't sure what was going on. We'd finally lost the Orcs and were standing on a lower ramp, overlooking some lava. Merry said he didn't feel well and leaned over and threw up into the lava. I put my hand on his back and asked him if he was okay. He stood back up and we continued along the ramps.
I really don't know what happened next. If you're looking for an ending, there really wasn't one. It was just a very mixed up dream.
