Dream Log: 2/7/04
Part One: Gandalf's Church of Christ
There was a small church that I was walking up to and the door was being held open by Gandalf. I smiled at him and stepped over the threshold. I don't know what I said, but it was supposed to be something as I walked in. I was embarrassed that I forgot it, so I just laughed.
When inside the small church, Gandalf sat at a desk and each person who entered was supposed to say a sentence to him and he would give them a membership card or something. The sentence was a religious phrase like "thou art blessed" or something like that. I was next after someone in front of me so I stood there and when I said the sentence, I mixed up the words and I smiled kind of nervously. Gandalf smiled back as if to say "Well, good try, close enough." and gave me my card.
Next, I sat down on a chair and waited, I guess for Gandalf to start the class, which it was more like rather than a sermon or whatever. I was wondering where the hobbits were, and just as I thought that, Merry, Pippin and Frodo walked in. They all had just woken up and were scruffy, but Merry and Pip had their normal clothing on, I think Frodo had a bathrobe and his hair was up in the back and he wasn't clean shaven. I didn't really get a good look at him at that point.
I think Gandalf was being a little sarcastic telling them it was nice of them to go out of their way and show up. The hobbits helped themselves to coffee.
Part Two: Merry, Pippin, Frodo and I still at the Church
I sat at a table in the church with Merry, Pippin and Frodo. Frodo was now wearing his regular clothes, and looked exactly like he did in the movies. Gandalf was walking around the room. At one point I put my arms around Frodo and kissed him on the head, burying my face in his soft curls. Gandalf saw this, and politely asked me to please not do that in here because it was inappropriate behavior in the church. I sat back down. At that point in the dream, it was understood that Frodo and I were a couple.
Merry and Pip were talking about something and they mentioned a girl who recently moved into town and then they got quiet because she was in the room, walking past our table. Her name was Jessica. She was very young looking and cute sort of like a hobbit, but prettier and not fat like Rosie. I saw Frodo checking her out and I remember feeling worried and jealous. But then I realized he didn't seem to care that much about her.
The rest of the part in the church wasn't very clear. Gandalf was talking to Pippin, probably about his experience in The War of the Ring. They were probably talking about how it changed him and made him realize this or that. Something along those lines.
Part Three: The Kiss
When the church class was over, Frodo and I were walking outside. It was a beautiful, mild day and I'm not sure where we were but it was somewhere in Middle Earth. It wasn't the Shire and my best guess is if it had to be anywhere, was a quiet country area near or in Gondor.
I remember being very happy to be there and at peace being with Frodo. I loved him very much.
Frodo and I stood on the road and faced eachother and kissed, kissing deeply for several seconds. I could feel it very vividly; it seemed so real. His lips were warm and his cheeks were cool. The kiss lasted much longer than I thought it would and I lost my breath. I pulled away to catch my breath and Frodo said to me: "You don't have to stop..." So I started kissing him again.
Part Four: The Upstairs Room at the Church
Frodo and I decided to sneak into the upstairs room of Gandalf's church. It was sort of a rec. room and there was a couch and a place for meetings. We wanted to have sex on the couch eventhough we knew Gandalf would kill us. But it was an exciting thought, especially since it was risky. The couch was kind of a drab beige color and sort of worn out. I layed down on the couch on my back with Frodo on top of me. We were still clothed, and hadn't even gotten started yet, when the door opened and some people came in. Quickly, Frodo covered us both with his cloak. I remember thinking that it sort of matched the couch, so maybe they won't notice. Frodo's head was wrapped in the cloak, so I pulled it off so he could breathe. We layed there, still, hoping the people woudn't notice us. They didn't. But then the scene changed.
Part Five: Back outside
Frodo and I were walking back outside, actually I don't know what sequence this was in, but I think it happened after the incident in the upstairs room. We were just basically going for a walk since Middle Earth was so nice now... and I kept hugging him and petting his hair and even picking him up and cuddling him. I remember, at some point, saying: "I love you so much..."
We were talking about height and he was only a little shorter than me, (since I am particualarly short for a human) and he's a hobbit.
Part Six: Scaling the Buildings
We were climbing around some ruins that were left over from the War of the Ring. At one point Frodo and I were scaling some building and hanging onto the ledges as we were making our way across it. I was holding on to a part that wasn't very stable. Frodo climbed over and was hanging on and he told me not to go over that way because I might fall.
Part Seven: The Ruins with Merry and Pippin
Merry and Pippin were back and were hanging out with Frodo and I. The four of us were in a large area that was torn down during the battles. It still looked cool. It could have been something like Minas Morgul, that would have made the most sense, but I'm not sure where it was. We were looking at the rocks and digging through the rubble, just exploring in sort of a quiet way, almost reflecting on what had happened. At the bottom of a pit like area was some fine dirt, that had the texture of sand in front of what looked like might have been a fire place mantle. Frodo was saying something about his mother and how he was remembering her before she died. Then something called to him and he began to dig in a specific spot in the dirt right in front of the mantle. I was right behind him and Pippin and Merry were also watching. I was really nervous because I knew what he was going to find, and seconds later, he dug the dirt aside and revealed a shiney gold ring. I remember thinking "Oh no! It's the Ring!" The letters in Elvish flashed and then disappeard. Frodo grabbed the Ring off the ground and was saying something about it being his. He put it on the chain and once again wore it around his neck. I remember saying something like, "You don't need this, it won't do you any good," but I couldn't change his mind of course, so I just let him wear it. I tucked the chain under his shirt so noone would see it.
Part Eight: The Ring is a Fake
In another room, not too far from where we found the Ring were some teenage boys all laughing and talking. Somewhere around that point, I took the ring and crushed it, realizing it was fake. It broke apart like cheap plastic. At first Frodo was angry but then he realized it was indeed fake. The boys were laughing at us and we went into the room where they were lounging and hanging out. They were mocking Frodo for thinking it was real and I was angry.
Part Nine: Consulting with Gandalf
In a dimly lit dining room, Frodo, Gandalf and I along with some others, not clear who, were sitting at a table. Gandalf stood and explained that although the Ring we found was a hoax, the remains of The One Ring were still nearby. The hoax Ring was broken by me, but Frodo still held the real one. I looked at him, confused. He pulled the chain out of his shirt, and hanging on it was something that looked like a crushed coin. It was metal and I could see a faint Elvish inscription on it. I took it in my hand and Frodo undid the chain and took it off so we could all get a closer look at it. It was the remains of the One Ring. I looked a little shocked and Frodo sat back in his chair, looking almost guilty.
The best I can conclude is that Gandalf took what was left of the Ring and got rid of it. There was a feeling that this was all coming to an end, sort of like in the movie, Frodo had to leave Middle Earth and thus our little romance was over.
