Part 2

investigation:
This long-awaited investigation was our follow-up to the first Dance Studio Investigation in April. We were all excited to be back for an encore performance! This time it was July 2008 and there were eight team members: Me, Jackie, Satori Soul, Paul, Ang, Cinn, Sam and Rose.
I rode over with Ang and Cinn and we got to the studio at about 9pm. S. Soul immediately started setting up his equipment. I wasn't sure where to go first and was excitedly pacing around with my recorder already on.
After the cameras were set up, we decided to go to the main, large dance room and do an EVP session. I was not fond of that room because not only does it have echoing acousitcs, it is right on the street and there is traffic noise and headlights that reflect in the mirrors of the studio. All of that stuff really contaminates evidence.
We spent a long time asking questions. Cinn began to tell us her feelings about the place, and who she felt might have been there. She said the Spirit was bad so some team members began to provoke it by saying mean things to it (but not as bad as Tango in the "Iron Island" episode of Ghosthunters. As a side note, even when he curses, Tango is still such a cute Jersey boy!)
We all heard a whistle, although I couldn't help but wonder if it came from the street. It sounded far away to me. A couple of team members saw a small, red dot of light moving around way across the room. I saw it too, but I thought it could have come from the street, tail lights, maybe?
I was getting kind of restless and was glad when it was time to move to another room. We all went into the downstairs studio, the room that we 3 girls had heard the pounding on the stairs the last time. It took us a while to get settled and the acoustics and echo in there was just as bad, actually worse than the big main room.
Cinn began to channel again and I kept an open mind, although I am not sure what to make of sensitives and psychics. I respect all investigators because none of us can really say for sure what is and what isn't going on regarding the paranormal. I am definitely on the more skeptical side, though.
Finally, we broke into groups. It was me, Ang, S. Soul and Sam. The other group was Jackie, Paul, Cinn and Rose. Our group stayed downstairs and their group went up. As they went up I took note of the sound of them walking up the stairs. Again, it sounded identical to the sound we heard the night none of us was on the stairs.
Sam said there was something near me and asked if I could feel it. I said no. He said it was right by my head. I tried to sense something, but nothing felt weird to me. The most disturbing thing I saw in that room was the "Highschool Musical 2" poster on the back wall.
We moved on out to the foyer. Although it was very close to the front door which was practically in the street with the traffic, there was no echo. Traffic wasn't too heavy at the time, so it was pretty quiet, which was nice. S. Soul's tri meter went off and we couldn't figure out why. Ang began asking questions. S. Soul was wearing sensitive earphones and at one point asked "Did someone whisper?" and we all said no, none of us did.
Cinn had a very uneasy experience in a particularly creepy part of the studio. Again, I was not sure what to make of it. We left after that, wondering what evidence we might have caught.

evidence:
We caught both new evidence along with some VERY compelling evidence that backs up what we got at the first Dance Studio investigation!
EVP: Whisper
Place: The foyer
Team Members Present: Me, Ang, S. Soul, Sam
Event: In the audio, right after Ang gives the room temperature, a quick whisper says something like "I heard it". Then S. Soul asked "Did someone whisper?"
None of us whispered and the "I heard it" phrase, although not extremely clear, was definitely a whisper. It was close to my recorder and it was not the sound of friction or any thing coming from outside. I think that S. Soul might have heard it at the time because he was wearing sensitive earphones attached to his recorder. Perhaps he heard it because it was going through equiptment that amplified it. All EVPs are, are voices that we can't hear with the naked ear. Our recorders have to pick them up for us, then we play them back and hear them. Most EVPs are at a frequency so low that a living human can not make such a sound.
Note: When I played this EVP for my mom, she heard "Weird" rather than "I heard it". It could be either or neither of those (I'd rate this a Class C) but it was definitely a whisper and not a team member.

EVP: "Help Me"
This one is incredible. I actually did not know I even had it because I overlooked it as chatter. But when I found out that both Paul and Jackie picked up the same EVP, I went back and checked my audio to see if I had it too. And lo and behold, I did.
Place: The main dance studio
Team Members Present: Me, Ang, Cinn, Jackie, Paul, S. Soul, Sam, Rose
Event: We had been in the room for a while and this was when some members were trying to provoke the spirit. I think Ang's undies were showing on someone's camera because everyone was laughing and about it. As the laughter was dying down, there's a short pause, then you hear a gravely voice cry out: "HELP ME". The "me" is over-lapped by Paul saying "Come on, do something!" to the potential spirit. None of us would have said "Help me", even as a joke. If Cinn had said it through channeling, Rose or someone else would have responded to her and asked for more information on why they needed help. This "Help Me" was not heard at the time by any of us. Shortly after, we heard a whistle. I don't think the whistle was related to the EVP, though.

Evidence that backs our "Help Me" EVP: Paul got a VERY clear "Help Me" in a smaller dance room the first time we visited the studio. The voice, although whispered sounds similar.

Jackie got another "Help Me", very faint in the recording, but it's there, in this (July) investigation. It also sounds male, and like the other 2 EVPs.

Several other EVPs were caught that night by Jackie and others. One very compelling video clip was also obtained. Unfortunately I was not in the room when the video was made, it was just Paul, Jackie, Cinn and Rose. The video shows a black mass blocking Jackie's view of a basketball that they were trying to get the spirit to move. Black shadows or masses are a common manifestation of paranormal activity. (Not that paranormal activity itself is common, but I digress.)

personal conclusion: (Please note this is MY personal conclusion, and may not be the same opinion of the other members of the SPIRIT team) If any place is haunted, it's that dance studio. There were just too many weird things that happened both times we were there. I still try to come up with a rational explaination, because despite the fact that I can be a real whack job, I'm a pretty scientific person and I don't jump to conclusions when it comes to the paranormal. I played the "help me" EVP for a couple of friends who are not on our team, and they heard it, clear as day.
