Brannan Inn

investigation: Old Calistoga is becoming a popular place for us ghosthunters! Once again SPIRIT found itself on our way to down town Calistoga, CA. to investigate a Bed and Breakfast just days before Halloween.
This time it was just five of us: Jackie, Paul, S. Soul, Jackie's daughter and me. There are two rooms that are potentially haunted. One is in a much older part of the building and the other is in a newer annex. When we got there, the owner explained the happenings, although rare, the reports they received were consistant enough to make them call in a team of investigators.
For the first part of the investigation, Jackie's daughter and I investigated The Lavender Room (why is there ALWAYS a Lavender Room?, lol) We chatted to eachother and to the potential Spirit, but all was very quiet except for the traffic on the street now and then
In the back room I suggested we turn on the fan, because I read on TAPS site that there is a theory that white noise and electric energy can be used as a conductor for spirits. It was kind of amusing sitting there in the dark with a fan on full blast waiting for something to happen.
Jackie's daughter and I decided after about an hour to go meet up with the rest of the gang over in the Perriwinkle room. A funny thing happened when we walked in. It was Jackie, Paul and S. Soul and Jackie said "This is my daughter and this is Deidre." Well, I thought she was talking to the potential spirit so I gave an animated wave and said brightly "Hello!" and that was when I realized there was a fourth person in the room who said hello back -- she was an employee of the Inn who was there to sit in on the investigation! I was stiffling my laughter. I would have been less goofy if I knew I were saying hello to a real person.
A little while later the employee left to go to bed and Paul and S. Soul went over to the Lavender Room. So then it was just me, Jackie and her daughter. We had a nice time chatting and munching on caramel apple Sugar Babies. But nothing unusual happened.
We left at around 11:30 due to not much happening and everyone being tired. The rest of the group had just returned from Preston Castle and were on their way to the ultra-famous Myrtle's Plantation in Louisiana that weekend, so they had a lot to do!

evidence: No evidence was collected from this investigation. I think if there is anything there, we would need to spend a lot more time in the rooms since the reports of activity were pretty rare.
